The lemon meringue is the one people come back for: sharp lemon curd set firm enough to slice, under an Italian meringue torched to gold. It comes as an 18 cm pie or as six individual tartlets, which travel better and save anyone the job of cutting slices at the table. Alongside it sits a strawberry and basil tart, which sounds like a chef showing off and turns out to be one of the best things here.

Tarts are at their best on the day they arrive, particularly anything with meringue or fresh fruit on it, so it is worth ordering for the day of the occasion rather than the day before. At least 48 hours notice on everything.
