Description
Six apple hand pies, filled with tender apples and warm spice in a soft, golden pastry. These are the sweet member of the pirozhki family, eaten with tea rather than soup.
About pirozhki
Pirozhki are the small filled buns that do the work of a sandwich across Russia, Ukraine and Belarus: taken to work, packed for a journey, handed round at a wake and a birthday alike. The dough is enriched and soft rather than crisp, and the filling is generous, because a mean pirozhok is worse than no pirozhok.
Ordering
Six to an order. Very good warmed through for a few minutes in a low oven. At least 48 hours notice.
Baked by hand in our Belgravia kitchen and delivered across London and Surrey. If you want a mix of fillings, the pirozhki discovery box lets you choose.
