Description
Six pirozhki filled with seasoned mashed potato and onion. Plain, filling and entirely vegetarian, and probably the single most eaten pirozhok in the former Soviet Union for exactly those reasons.
About pirozhki
Pirozhki are the small filled buns that do the work of a sandwich across Russia, Ukraine and Belarus: taken to work, packed for a journey, handed round at a wake and a birthday alike. The dough is enriched and soft rather than crisp, and the filling is generous, because a mean pirozhok is worse than no pirozhok.
Ordering
Six to an order. Very good warmed through for a few minutes in a low oven. At least 48 hours notice.
Baked by hand in our Belgravia kitchen and delivered across London and Surrey. If you want a mix of fillings, the pirozhki discovery box lets you choose.
