Description

Kurabye are the piped butter cookies with a spot of jam in the middle, found from Baku to Moscow and everywhere in between. The dough is piped into a flower and a thumbprint of strawberry jam goes in the centre before baking. 200 g to an order.

What they are like

Extremely short, in the pastry sense: they collapse rather than snap. There is very little sugar in the dough itself, so what you taste is butter and then the jam.

When to order them

They keep better than most things here, which makes them the sensible choice for a house with visitors coming and going over a few days.

At least 48 hours notice. Baked by hand in Belgravia and delivered across London and Surrey.
