Description

Vatrushka is the open bun with a well of sweetened tvorog in the middle, one of the oldest and most everyday things in the Russian and Ukrainian baking repertoire. This version keeps the vanilla cottage cheese centre and adds fresh strawberries on top.

  • Soft enriched dough, pressed to make the well
  • Sweetened tvorog with vanilla, which sets to a custard as it bakes
  • Fresh strawberries

When to order them

Breakfast, mostly, or the middle of the afternoon with tea. They are less sweet than most sweet buns, which is the reason people who claim not to like pastries at breakfast end up eating two.
