Description
Jagodzianki are the Polish blueberry buns that appear in every bakery in Warsaw the moment the first berries arrive and vanish again by September. Soft enriched dough, a generous blueberry filling that stains everything it touches, and a buttery streusel over the top.
What makes a good one
- Dough enriched enough to stay soft the next day
- Real blueberries, and enough of them that the filling runs
- Streusel with proper butter in it, baked until it turns sandy
Who orders them
Poles who miss them, and everyone they have ever given one to. They are not widely available in London, which is why people tend to order four and then order eight the following week.
Ordering
Four to a box. Best eaten the day they arrive, warm if you can manage it. At least 48 hours notice.
Baked by hand in our Belgravia kitchen and delivered across London and Surrey.
